Picnic at Dorbrook
Sunday September 4 2005 @ 10:54 pm

After mass today I decided to make some of my famous avocado, cheddar and turkey sandwiches and have a picnic over at Dorbrook Park. The weather was a nice 80 degrees and the sky was pretty much perfect. We parked the car and sat in a shady spot in full view of the sprayground.

After taking Lillian on the playground swings we were walking back and I noticed some flying objects to my right. The model airplane pilots were out in full force today and I noticed at least 3 of them flying around. Jason actually bought me a plane a few years ago but I didn’t have the time or room to put it together and when I moved to LA I gave it back to him. One day maybe we can get that thing in the air.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning - both bathrooms and my half of the bedroom. Debbie and I also made a pass through some stuff we set aside for eBay and I ended up chucking about 25% of it. Things don’t seem as valuable as they once did months later.

Debbie wanted something Mexican for dinner so we tooka walk to the sucky A&P and I made up some chipotle lime quesdillas and we had some beef nachos. Mmmm…

Ingredients for a super sandwich:

  • A good roll - ciabatta is good but a Portuguese Roll is better
  • Boar’s Head cajun turkey or honey maple ham
  • Romaine lettuce and tomato
  • A very ripe avocado
  • Boar’s Head Black Wax cheddar
