Debbie and I are preparing for Lillian’s biggest trip yet. A few months back Debbie had expressed interest in heading to Columbus so Lillian could be with family. Originally we had planned to go before Patti and Jason had their kid so they would have some time to hang out. That date never worked out so Labor Day became the perfect weekend to do it, even though little A.J. Uhrig was born almost 2 weeks ago. Mom Dompierre already has the Columbus house stocked with baby stuff (crib, toys, etc) so our load there shouldn’t be as much as it usually is. We’re planning to leave tomorrow around 3pm, right after Lillian gets her 3rd set of vaccinations. The shots usually knock her out for a bit so we decided it would be a great time to start the 9 hour trip. Hopefully she won’t feel too bad being cooped up that long in a car seat.
I’m trying to plan out an itinerary for the weekend. I usually have a list of stuff which I always want to do in Columbus and a list of stuff that I’d like to do which is as follows:
Want to Do:
- Breakfast or lunch at the North Market
- Go-karting at Speeds
- Rock climbing at Vertical Adventures
- Lunch at Nancy’s
- Hang with Justin and Suzi
- Movies at the Arena Grand or Studio 35
- BCBG and Anthropologie
- Dr. Mojoe’s
- URBN
- El Vaquero
- BW3
- .45’s at the Powder Room
Haven’t done yet but would like to do:
- Dinner at Betty’s
- Dinner at Handke’s
- Columbus Clippers game
- Schmidt’s Sausage House

Debbie was hard at work when I came home so I took Lillian to the mall for an hour or so. We parked by Lord & Taylor and I went over to Lids to buy some cheap hats for the Sept. 17th Mets game that Mike got tickets to. I decided to try out the ‘bring both team hats to the game and beg for balls’ trick. While I was there I bought a $5 Lids card which gets me 20% off on future purchases.
After the mall we went to A&P to load up on travel supplies. Vitamin Water, Propel water, pretzels and Twizzlers. I wanted some sugar free Red Bull but they were out. The A&P sucks.
